Love is in the air :) Can’t believe that Valentine’s day is more or less around the corner. Where has January gone already? I don’t know if you feel like me but at the moment time seems passing by so unbelievably quickly and I still haven’t managed to invent a 48h day ;)

If you were following me from the start you might remember that it’s 2 years ago I published a granny heart bunting tutorial. As with all of your patterns there is always a way to improve them or just do something slightly different. I was playing with some yarn the other day and came up with another variation of how to make the central granny heart for the bunting. The heart can be used as an applique by itself and it only has 2 instead of 4 ends to sew it (Bonus :)). I also did an alternative to the triangles themselves, which I’m going to talk about another day. So watch this space ;)

Lets get started:

with red:

Make Magic ring, ch 3 (counts as first dc (tr), if you’re advance I recommend making a standing st instead)

Granny Heart Pattern

Round 1: 2 dc (tr), ch 1, *3 dc (tr), ch 1*,  2 times, 3 dc (tr), sc (dc) in ch 3

You might wonder why you’re doing this but this will help to make a cleaner square when you connect the round with a sc (dc) rather than a sl st.
